Inka to the bird observation tower
sun, blue sky and almost five degrees above zero - perfect flying weather for migratory birds. We look to the sky - and, indeed, just as wild geese, a group in the typical wedge-shaped flight formation over our yard. Without further ado, we decide to use our Sunday trip with the dogs for bird watching. Our particular interest is the cranes, which are for me the most fascinating birds at all, but unfortunately are very shy.
The view from the tower
Inca and Foxy on the way down from the tower

We drive to the reserve Sweden beekeepers Moor and Lueder break , the for cranes and many other migratory birds is an important resting and breeding area. To protect the nesting birds there many roads are closed from February to July. On most of the fields left and right of open access is the main paths of water - mostly in the frozen state. Where the sun has already melted the ice, have huge squads lapwings established. Their shrill cries accompany us on our way to the bird observation tower on the edge of a large former rewetted Torfabbaufläche. Birds nest there it yet, but it is the view from the tower are very impressive. The view over the marshes to the mountains on the horizon Bokeler. We feel like in a typical central Swedish bog landscape.
German-Angus cow with calf
On the way back we pass a herd of cattle bred German Angus that here in the protected area to landscape and meat suppliers are kept. Several of the cows lying in the grass newborn calves and doze in the sun. A beautiful picture!
Time and again we see cranes in the sky, but through the fields only a lone stalks of this genus. But then we suddenly hear a whole concert crane. The birds must be exactly in our direction of travel. Your calls are getting louder. And now we see them at last: In a meadow near the forest rest hundreds of you, and always end up more conspecifics.
At last we have found the resting place for cranes.
minutes we observe this natural spectacle - from a safe distance of course, because these birds are very wary and fly away if they get too close to people. Back on
car we have parked at a junction outside the protected area, said Marion: "What a beautiful day!" And exactly the same thing I was thinking just ...
tomorrow!
