In Egypt, the Revolution now seems to be in full swing. In order to understand world events better, I've decided to move more frequently to technical literature consulted. So let's look now at a more precise definition of revolution, rebellion and insurrection.
A riot is defined as:.
A folk festival which innocent passers-by for the amusement of the soldiers give
How clearly seen in the videos of the last day, the soldiers were entertained as they arrived with tanks in Cairo (see also ). So, clearly a revolt in Egypt.
But it is in fact already been a revolution or even a revolt. According to Ambrose Bierce is a revolution:
An abrupt change in the Mißregierungsform. Revolutions usually go hand in hand with considerable bloodshed, but they say that they are worth it - an assessment that is from the beneficiaries whose blood had not the misfortune to be cast. is
According to Spiegel in Cairo already shed plenty of blood and the change from a dictatorship (Mubarak) to an Islamist Gotteststaat (Muslim Brotherhood) could certainly be interpreted as a change from a Mißregierungform to the next. This change is not yet complete, however, the revolution does not seem to be so terminated.
Let us finally to revolt ... that sounds somehow better. According to the cynics already cited standard work "The Devil's Dictionary" is a revolt:
An unsuccessful revolution. The failed attempt of the discontented, a lousy system of government to replace a bad government.
You have to probably wait a bit to assess the ... but is quite in the realm of possibility.
